The course aims at transferring theoretical and empirical knowledge that highlights the principles of the airline business. Moreover, the module discusses issues related to market structure, conduct and performance in the airline sector under different regimes. It presents alternative corporate strategies in the airline business and analyses issues of management, marketing and integration. Finally, the course suggests suitable policies to alleviate the emerging problems (including the address of environmental concerns) at both micro and macro levels. In all cases, examples and case studies are provided to assist the participants in understanding and applying constructively the foundations of the airline business in their workplace.
